By: Reinas Universal (Nori)
http://reinasuniversal.blogspot.com/

Celeste Marshall is a Bahamian beauty queen and model, elected as Miss Bahamas 2012 and will represent her country in the 2012 Miss Universe pageants. Height 1.82 m (5 ft 11 1⁄2 in)

1. Who is Celeste Marshall? Talk a little about yourself.

A strong yet sensitive fun loving woman of the world. I find the good in everything, and I am proud to be Bahamian!

2. How did you get your start in modeling and beauty pageants?

Modeling started because my height peaked at a very early age. To assist with building my self esteem and confidence, my mom enrolled me in modelling and dance classes when I was thirteen. Pageantry started after I did my first major show with Nick Verreos at Islands of the World, and a local pageant coach asked me to consider competing. Here I am four years later at Miss Universe. Miss Bahamas was my first pageant.

3. How do you feel represent Bahamas women to the Universe?

I feel like I am the epitome of what our culture depicts as a Bahamian Woman. Strong, Independent, Focused, Politically Aware and Culturally Sound. I exude Bahamian-ism. The Bahamian woman comes in all shades, and I am embrace that beauty comes from within.

4. What has been the most difficult part in your preparation for the Miss Universe pageant? Dieting, because I love to eat. Keeping a regime that is balanced between sleep, working out, preparing, community service, personal time plus time for family has created some wonderful habits for me. In life there must always be balance.

5. Miss Universe will be held in Las Vegas, What do you think?

It’s the city of lights...my time to shine. I have never been to Las Vegas before, so it's wonderful to experience the city with 88 other contestants who might not have visited Las Vegas either. I met 14 contestants in Nicaragua recently as I participated in Miss Universe's Fashion for Smiles fundraiser there. It will be wonderful seeing those ladies again. After all it is a competition so I am very glad that the festivities are hosted at various hotels throughout Las Vegas giving me a chance to really experience each venue, their facilities and friendly staff. Being from The Bahamas, a country where tourism is the #1 income generator, I can really appreciate what Las Vegas has to offer.

6. Which beauty queen do you admire the most?

Dayana Mendoza

7. If you don’t win Miss Universe, what are your plans for the future?

At the moment, my mind is only focused on winning.

8. As you see yourself in 10 years?

In ten years, I hope to be a successful Pediatrician, starting a family and if all goes well here :) celebrating the tenth year anniversary of having won my country’s first Miss Universe Title.

9. Any advice for girls who want to be beauty queens?

It all starts with knowing who you are and what you believe in.

10. What is your special message to your fans, and to all people around the world?

As we stand on this platform of beauty, let us be reminded that beauty at its purest shines from within and is transmitted with love that see no color, religion, creed or prejudice. We are one. Peace and Love to the world.
 :) Celeste
